Polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) are integrated in the cell membranes of our body. They play different roles in different life periods. With adults, Omega-3 PUFAs primarily perform an anti-inflammatory function, reducing pain, bronchospasm, and blood viscosity, while with children, including during fetal life, they target other no less important functions.

1. Baby’s cognitive development, i.e. the way a baby’s motor skills, speech and motor coordination will develop.

During a baby’s growth and development, these special fatty acids contribute to the improvement of memory and attention, in other words, to the memorization and ability to concentrate attention, i.e. focus on an object or action. Insufficient development of such skills represents a wide-spread problem, especially for elementary grade students.

From what age do children need PUFAs? There are two critical periods in each child’s life when Omega-3 PUFAs are most important:

• Firsts: during the eighth–ninth week of the mother’s pregnancy. At this gestational age, the baby’s brain, despite being as small as a grapelet, is being actively formed and pided into sections, with gyri appearing.


• Second: during the first three years of life, when the brain and neural tissue as a whole are rapidly developing. The fatty acids envelope nerve fibers as insulation, supporting smooth neural transmission.

2. Baby’s vision development, including before birth.

The “queen” of Omega-3 PUFAs, docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), is responsible for this. It plays an important role in the nervous system development and neural transmission. For this reason, Omega-3 PUFAs may and should be administered during pregnancy. But as pregnant women often experience such unpleasant symptoms as heartburn and nausea, intensifying during pregnancy toxemia, they frequently avoid eating fish or administering PUFAs. In such cases, fatty acid deficiency may develop, which tends to aggravate with aging. Most commonly, such condition is attributable to Omega-3 PUFAs-restricted diet and children’s refusal to consume food containing Omega-3 PUFAs.

Contrary to the common belief, a child needs more than just vitamins и microelements. In early school age, Omega-3 PUFAs become highly essential, as they improve visuo-motor coordination. However, it is difficult to have children consume fish or regularly administer food supplements containing Omega-3 PUFAs.

NGREDIENTS:
Fish oil (triglycerides of fish oil concentrate, anti-oxidant: tocopherols, mixture concentrate); purified water; trehalose dihydrate; sucrose; gelatin; thickener: glycerin; acidity regulator: triple-substituted sodium citrate; natural flavor; anti oxidant: citric acid; Paprika extract; (coloring agent: Paprika extract, anti oxidants: ascorbyl palmitate, alpha tocopherol); cholecalciferol (vitamin D3) (cholecalciferol, anti oxidant: alpha tocopherol). The product may contain trace amounts of fish and soy. GMO free.
